Gerontocracy is the only outcome, Demonic or well-meaning, both aged The hemp papers go up in flames, As the new age dictator is assuaged What he wants, they tried, In an era more favorable, And was starved for funds by ’61. The media, The paper tiger, Can no more be accounting to the puppets aglance, Follow the scent of misleading snouts.
2.
Red Lion, look it up! There used to be equal time. Policy, not pablum. Substance, not fluff. Behind the wings, the apologists complain, Scion from an old family, Or dark sheep. The old sheep, looking, figured nicely, No backbone in him no more. Could we take the heirs of the/Sons of Liberty/Minutemen And throw them in the River Charles? A republic that we cannot keep? Oh how lightning would see us now. Oh how lightning would see us Four score, some 125 years ago, We were entrusted And by the narrowest of margins, We hold off This is much…. This is….. This not our scream/script This is the future I was too blind to see before

Though there is strife through the tale American, Bloodshed, injustice, and lies, Men, women too, Do their obligation, and, for the most part, Allow the nation to thrive. Robber barons inside the pillars, The older doubloon, The arrow’s nest. The vertebrates becoming encephalopods [sic] Sabertooths without fang[s] This is the sum, who to choose? Now don’t be so surprised, Keep what the dog’s been feeding you Very in your eyes

Battle for the star-spangled soul, It’s not as easy as it sounds When the forces are weak, When the mood is sour People upset over identity, They cost citizens their lives For just daring to be different Someone can go and take that story to the press, Whatever you do, just make ‘em guess.
5.
If the social contract fails, the only option lies Anarchy or suicide Every man against every man, That the lectures prepared me for. Take a flagpole, It will cross swords With self-aggrandizement Sister against brother, Lover against lover! Our history will be nothing! Burning it down.

about

A dire warning about the upcoming elections and our country as a whole couched in stream-of consciousness lyricism, allusions to "the tale American," historical speeches, related samples, and microtones. A difficult release, not for everyone, but every civically-minded American should hear it.
