I. An Entrance A man goes into his life thinking he’s free. Society and everyone else, wars, conflict, love Surround him and bind him. Until he is something changed. None of those at Flanders Fields could have predicted that they’d be part of history Neither could the families of those staring into broken glass. In reality, we all become death We just sit there trembling. A weakness, For anyone in everyday life
2.
II. Inklings of Nihil When Shadrach and Abdenego stepped into fire They said they were not afraid, But some part of their inner consciousness thought differently. Enoch was said to have walked with giants But could he see two meters in front of his face? The pointillistic phallus has dropped out. Shadowy Texan; gaunt, wiry, will take his place In an alternate universe. They will turn to stone, doubting the power of sin. But was it that sin, in totality, that made them….holy? The man who has read and the man who has watched Can only pale to that being, winged and die, Floating above, with its’ eyes shut. Was it David, or Solomon, or another wise king That ordered the circumcision of the pagans? This person would trust the wives of the pure born When they are infidels? Does that matter?
3.
III. Hymn for the Corrupted Be still, He is coming Cloaked in almighty vengeance Make a ways for His purposes, The sackcloth revisited. A set and numbers Reach beyond what the mind can comprehend O Holy One, Recast your stones Or give the aslatua. But daemon Was interred back. Midas coveted what he could not, Lucifer coveted what he could not. The hare is content with the leaves. Go back to the warren, little one The Holy Ghost Or is but a mantra Those who know it cannot feel Her
4.
IV. An Omen 08:16
IV. An Omen The sky is somewhere crescent and stars….coexist As many do on Earth But it is the ones that take the opposite path The camera glare focuses. Kings, charlatans, tyrants. When they ask: “What good is it to live in this world?” I cannot answer that for you myself. We have the blues to help us Not so different from hymns Even questions of science sometimes want belief Shame on those that use belief To attempt to dictate thought Not there equivocator, for thee has been marked
5.
V. The Failed Acolyte Jesus waited for Barabbas at the edge of the garden. It was an ultimate act of forgiveness; a first sacrifice. He defeated all the daemons Then but the self shrank back. Universe could not be of the thief, who joined Him in Heaven after crucifixion Which he washed/watched from Tarshish like Jonah He went there to steal it.
6.
VII. An Entrance Revisited When a man comes into this world But does not know what is real, what is false, What is dream, what is reality, Everything is confused in the infant’s....deluge Cannot crying from the safety of the warm water That safety would be your undoing if it was more than nine months But, in itself, it has given you what it feels like to be protected And when you lose that, and you will lose that You can never get it back.
7.
VI. Ineffable Enigma Το φως είναι ανοιχτώ, αλλά είναι σκούρο δωμεσα. (The light is on, but it is dark in here).
8.
VIII: An Exit (Πάντοτε) When you go out in this world, in a sense, it is similar to when you come in. You, like the answer to a young child Are completely silent, like no one is before you. Some events and feelings make up our lives. But we rue those That we don’t have a chance to change Permanence is a fallacy. “Come in, the tea is boiling. We have a lot to discuss, My grandson.” Wisdom of ages. And when you come out of this world, Don’t waste it in fear. Try to pass on your happiness. It is all we have.

about

An improvised song cycle inspired by current events, this album allowed me to experiment more with microtunings a la Jandek (who is referenced in one of the lyrics). It contains some of my most discordant playing. American Darkness is the closest reference point in my catalogue, but my hushed and extemporaneous proclamations owe much more to the aforementioned Houston outsider or to the apocalyptic esotericism of Current 93. Nocturnal and dense, hypnagogic and spartan, this is not for the faint of heart or spirit.
