lyrics

My Letter:

The script was twisted
The stamp not on straight
I took the wrong way round the bend
It worries me writing you
These feelings will never end you know.
Still I have it buried in my soul
A bent-up word from long ago
Though I know it's strange
I hold it close and think of everything we should be.

Song For Ava:

Saw you in a film the other night
The camera was great
The writing alright

Do you think of me as your slave now honey?
Do you hear them moaning at night?
Like the man I despise
Locking her up so tight

Betraying Jesus's dreams
Treating girls as toys
Pipes to be passed around
To all the naughty girls and boys

My crush is an angel
And sluts are seraphim sent
When it's over they go straight up to
Where our Dear Mother is meant

But the sackcloths devour them
I shall remove what they stroke
Trails of blood for the old Injun cries
Smiles through the fort fire and smoke.

John, clean Pocahontas's ass
And leave her in the tobacco fields
She can live then
Pure with the land
Gone from her eyes the courts and old fears

Maybe I could love you
For somebody else
Maybe all my questions
Are teasing me through your mammary cells

But I know they'll keep you
Till you can't perform
Cut you unceremoniously down
Look at all the pretty worms!

Is this the life we know?
Obscured by ceramic and kiln
Weaving blankets of deception
As the latex slides in?

Now I did get off
Quarter past two
That doesn't mean it's anything
More than what I know love to be true

You may enjoy it for a while
Call me when you're done
We'll wipe down the path
Your flaming red virtue had run.
